An optical filter is a plane-parallel plate that selectively changes the spectral composition, spatial distribution, and intensity of light radiation passing through it.
Types of optical filters
Absorption (colored glass): absorb unwanted wavelengths within their volume and convert this energy into heat. Our company manufactures elements from all 13 groups of glass in accordance with GOST 9411-91.
- UV and visible range: UVS (ultraviolet), FS (violet), SS (blue), ZS (green), ZHZS (yellow-green).
- Longwave cut-off: ZHS (yellow), OS (orange), KS (red), IKS (infrared).
- Special: SZS (blue-green heat-absorbing), NS (neutral density), TS (dark protective), BS (colorless, cutting off hard UV).
- Combined: assembled from several colored glasses to select a specific spectral region.
Interference (thin-film): reflect unwanted spectral ranges through multiple-beam interference in deposited dielectric layers, transmitting only the target range. For tasks where colored glass is not enough, we produce high-precision thin-film elements:
- Bandpass: select narrow spectral regions.
- Longpass/Shortpass: provide a sharp boundary between full transmission and blocking ranges.
- Notch: completely cut out a single specific wavelength (bandwidth FWHM from 10 nm), blocking the rest of the spectrum.
We manufacture optical components both in serial batches and as single prototypes (from 1 pc. up to 3000–5000 pcs.) according to individual drawings and customer specifications.
